FAQ's

Groupon Information... We are still honoring the Groupon Tickets that were sold in the summer of 2011.

Please remember that one ticket is for one person only. If you would like to bring along a friend or a loved one, additional charges will apply.

Please schedule your ride long before the expiration date that is listed on the ticket. We tend to get a rush of calls right before the expiration date and cannot possibly fly everyone at the same time. We will do everything that we can to get you up.

*If you cancel your ride with less than 48 hours notice, we will not refund your money. Obviously, some exceptions may be made in extreme circumstances.*

How do I get started? Just call us to make your reservation. Our schedulers will take a bit of information from you and offer you any dates and times that we have available.

Where do we fly?
We primarily fly on the north side of Indianapolis. Our normal flying area includes Morse Lake, Cicero, Fishers, Noblesville, Westfield, Lapel, Pendleton, Anderson, Muncie, Fortville, Caramel, and the Geist area.

When do we fly
We fly during the first two hours of daylight and the last two hours of daylight. The exact times vary with the time of year. We schedule flights everyday from June to November, but unfortunately, the weather does not allow us fly everyday.

What do I do if my flight gets cancelled? We will call you the day of the flight to let you know if the weather will be good enough for a flight. If the weather is good, we will let you know the meeting time and location. If the weather is not going to cooperate, we will then ask you to reschedule for your most convenient time.

What is good weather for flying?
Wind is the most common cause of flight cancellations. We require a wind speed of less than 8 miles per hour with no gusts to fly safely. We also will not fly within twenty miles of an active thunder cell cloud.

How many people go up at one time? On Most days we fly one balloon with four passenger and a pilot. On weekends and high traffic times, we fly two balloons. Both of the balloons fly wth four passengers and a pilot.

Is it cold up there?  The weather at altitude will be almost identical to the weather on the ground. Since the balloon moves with the breeze, you will not even feel the wind.

What should I wear? Shoes are the biggest issue with inappropriate attire for ballooning. Ideally, we would always land in nice manacured public parks with soft green grass to walk on, but in actuallity, we occasionally land in scrubby weeds or dirty and rutty harvested agricultural fields. For this reason, high heals are not a good choice for a balloon ride. Also, the balloon uses heat from a 15 million BTU flame to create the heat used for its lifting force. Some of our taller passengers have found it more comfortable to wear a baseball cap during the flight.

Can I bring a camera? We encourage taking pictures and video, but please use the wrist strap on your camera. We are not responsible for items lost over the side of the basket during the flight.

Will there be other people on my flight? Most likely, yes. We book four passengers per flight. If you would like a private flight, we would be glad to accomodate... for an additional charge. Please see our prices page.

Should I bring anything? Afternoon flights during the late summer may be very warm. We strongly recommend bringing cold drinking water.
